DAMON TECHNOLOGIES ANNOUNCES A NEW WEB DEVELOPMENT
TOOL RSP Incorporates RPG, HTML AND JavaScript to produce
Web content (February 26, 2003) - Damon Technologies, Inc. announces the launch of RSP, a new web development tool for the IBM AS/400 and iSeries. RSP (RPG Server Pages), integrates RPG, HTML, and JavaScript to produce Web content. RSP allows the RPG developer to visually create web content. RPG code is embedded inside of tags in the HTML. Using a graphical IDE, for development, the programmer is able to see the Web page, embed variables throughout, and even encase the HTML in RPG "IF" statements and "LOOPS". With RSP, developers have all of the capabilities of native RPG, HTML and JavaScript at their disposal. "RSP was developed out of a need to create dynamic Web content. Java training for existing employees is lengthy, adding Java staff is expensive, and the CGI development environment can be cumbersome. RSP marries the flexibility of the Web with the speed of RPG, and leverages the existing skills of the programmers in a visual environment. We believe RSP to be the evolution of RPG", said Schadd Gray, president, Damon Technologies. |
